We are on holiday in Cornwall and the weather has been awful. Most days we have been trapped in the van sheltering from the rain so photographic opportunities have been rare. When I look back on this week I notice my shots have been very different from the last time we were here. I have particularly noticed the clouds and the very different moods created when the interact with the light. As a result I have capture some very different images to add to my portfolio.
I really enjoy cloudscapes. For me I am happy for the view at ground level to be mundane if the sky has drama or brilliance. On the ground very little changes but the sky can be the main event in so many cases. Whitby Abbey itself will not change much, but get a dark stormy sky over it, then it comes into its own and presents drama igniting our imagination of the related horror we all appertain to the area.
ReplyDeleteI agree. This Cornwall holiday represented the first time was "aware of feeling a mood" when looking at a scene and tried to capture it.
